We Engineers Love and Enjoy doing Release

Reading Time: < 1 minute

Release is a favorite part of our engineering life. Whenever we send any release to production, it gives a sense of achievement and satisfaction. It’s like giving birth to a baby. We grind ourselves and work hard to ensure that everything goes right and in place.

But Murphy’s Law is good old foe and a person whom we reach out to hide our mistakes / shortcomings or badly planned actions. Anything if goes wrong we have him behind us.

There is some different kind of joy, altogether different energy levels. And releasing something into the production is synonymous to staying up late in night and burning the midnight oil. Our heartbeats get faster and appetite becomes low. We suddenly get powers to be awake overnight. Adrenaline rushes through our body. It’s an awesome experience.

It seems like dopamine is released when we are doing a production release. We experience all kinds of butterflies in the stomach during this phase. The fear of unknown and the known. Still we take that leap of faith and we go ahead and give the Product a push to begin it’s journey. It’s an awesome feeling. Only we as engineers and creators can experience this.

Finally we are happy if nothing goes wrong, which hardly happens. Any engineer is incomplete without experience of a production release cycle. And once an engineer goes through the complete cycle. He becomes confident and ready to innovate.
