This long hard to pronounce word procrastination means :
The action of delaying or postponing something.
We as engineers are very good at procrastination. And we can use it in both ways. We procrastinate and get ourselves overwhelmed with the creativity and the unknowns. So, in this case, it becomes an enemy.
However, If we chase perfection or do time-bound procrastination, then we can get very good results. So, in this case, it becomes a friend. Here is an example.
Problem Statement: I want to create an eCommerce Website
Procrastination as an Enemy :
I will be creating an eCommerce Website with all the products & features possible, With the Latest design and will launch when all the criteria are met.
Procrastination as an Friend:
I will be creating an eCommerce Website with minimum products/features required to start the business, With good enough design template and will launch by a fixed date when maximum criteria are met and plan via Backtracking / Reverse Engineering. And later iteratively extend the product. But this is easy to say and hard to do.
